A pequena Arona é bom porto de partida para explorar o Lago Maggiore.
Hotel muito bem situado, perto da Piazza del Popolo, e com uma bela vista do meu quarto do Lago Maggiore, vista que se paga bem. Apreciei a luz de leitura â cabeceira da cama, assim como o grosso tronco de madeira a servir de mesinha de cabeceira. Simpático da parte do hotel disponibilizar uma cafeteira para aquecimento de água a fim de ser possível saborear um café ou um chá. Mas nada de mais para hotel que se diz “de luxe”. Nada a apontar acerca da limpeza do quarto e da casa de banho. Aqui, algumas amenidades são colocadas à disposição dos hóspedes. O pequeno almoço é bom. Bastante farto e variado. Mas há um exagero de doces enquanto a saudável fruta é escassa. É servido num espaço virado para o lago. Ainda bem.
Este hotel de ****, datado e com sobejas marcas da passagem do tempo, tanto interior como exteriormente, considera-se “de luxe”. A realidade desmente-o. Passo a enumerar tudo aquilo de que não gostei no quarto que me foi atribuído (237): - ar condicionado demasiado barulhento; - para tomar banho um poliban minúsculo e ordinário. Em propriedades muito mais baratas já usufruí de polibans de muito melhor qualidade; - o chuveiro é fixo ao teto. Quem quiser lavar apenas a cabeça terá de recorrer à torneira do lavatório, o que é muito pouco prático; - o piso do poliban está muito manchado, como a foto documenta; - o fundo da porta da casa de banho, talvez por ter apanhado água em demasia, está no estado que a foto mostra; - por desleixo, após alguma obra, não houve o cuidado de limpar as marcas de tinta branca no chão da casa de banho. A foto apresenta algumas delas; - falta de asseio na varanda, com teias de aranhas por limpar. Na véspera da partida, ao fim da tarde, contei cinco aranhas em simultâneo. Uma visitou-me o braço esquerdo quando estava lá sentado há poucos minutos. A foto mostra uma das aranhas, com a noite em aproximação rápida; - o suporte de floreira desmazeladamente preso ao gradeamento da varanda. Nada de vaso e, portanto, nada de flores. “De luxe”, hein?! Em síntese, hotel demasiado caro para a qualidade posta à minha disposição.
